This lesson covers ordering fractions from least to greatest or greatest to least. It is involves changing fractions to like denominators and then comparing the fractions to put them in order. 1. On the math test, Kevin got 4 out of 12 correct. Lynn got 8 out of 12 correct. Grant got 3 out of 12 correct. Who got the best score? Who got the worst score?
2. Mike, Debbie, and Kinzie are all having a contest to see who can eat the most hot dogs. Mike ate 2/8 of the hot dogs, Debbie ate 3/6 of the hot dogs, and Kinzie ate 1/4 of the hot dogs. Who would win first, second, and third place in the contest?
3. Ate the county bake off, Susan and Peggy wanted to beat Theresa. The challenge was to see who could use the most chocolate in her cake. Susan's cake was 7/10 chocolate. Peggy's cake was 4/5 chocolate, and Theresa's cake was 1/3 chocolate. Would won the contest? Who came in last?
4. The Christmas tree at the store has lights on it. Three-sevenths of the lights are blue, Four-ninths of the lights are yellow, and one-eighth of the lights are red. Which color of lights does the tree have the most of? Which color lights does the tree have the least of?
